The Subcontract Signing Ceremony for Thac Mo Hydropower Station Extension Project was held at the head office of Power Engineering Consulting Joint Stock Company 2 on 26^th January 2011.

Participants to the Signing Ceremony were Mr. Le Tuan Hai – General Director, Thac Mo Hydropower Plant Joint Stock Company, Mr. Shinichiro Tanimoto – Vice Director, International Business Management Department (J-Power), Mr. Truong Khac Len – Chairman, Mr. Nguyen Tai Anh – Chief Executive Officer and Representatives of Centers and Departments of PECC2.

Thac Mo Hydropower Station Extension is located about 200m downstream of the existing power plant on the Be River in Phuoc Long town – Binh Phuoc Province. Thac Mo Hydropower Plant Joint Stock Company - project owner on behalf of EVN shall manage the project. Main works of the project are expansion of the existing connecting channel, constructions of inlet channel, intake, intake dam, pressure tunnel, outdoor power plant with one Francis turbine (installed capacity of 75 MW) and tailrace channel. Main function of the Project is to provide electric power to the national grid at peak hours.

Power Engineering Consulting Joint Stock Company 2 was assigned as the main consultant for Thac Mo HPP (operation in 1995) for the stages of FS, Detailed Design, Construction Drawing.

The cooperation experience with J-Power in other previous projects such as Ham Thuan – Da Mi, Dai Ninh HPPs and especially in phase I of Thac Mo Hydropower Station Extension Project made PECC2 confident that PECC2 will provide J-Power with the best services and ensure the quality and schedule of the project.
