EPC Contract Signing Ceremony for Vinh Tan 4 Extension Thermal Power Plant Project

Vinh Tan 4 Extension Thermal Power Plant includes 01 unit with capacity of 600MW, located in Vinh Tan Power Complex at Vinh Tan Commune, Tuy Phong District, Binh Thuan Province.

The total investment amount of the project is about USD 1,104 billion (equivalent to VND 24 trillion). The project is planned to operate by the end of 2019.

The plant is estimated to supply about 3.6 billion kWh annually. The project was approved to be added to Power Development Plan VII and listed as an urgent project in the period 2013-2020 by the Prime Minister.

Vinh Tan 4 Extension Power Plant will take advantage of the existing infrastructure such as site plan, ports, connection to the national electricity system, transport, etc, especially the common facilities with 4 Vinh Tan Thermal Power Plant which being under construction.

Vinh Tan 4 Extension Power Plant applies modern technology with ultra supercritical parameter, using imported coal. This is the technology which has been widely applied in the world with high capacity and performance, affordable expense and ensures the requirements of environmental protection according to the standards of Vietnam.

The process of document issue, bid evaluation and contract negotiation has been carried out by EVN and consultant strictly, in sequence and in accordance with the current law, meeting the schedule requirements.

According to the schedule, after the EPC contract signing, the plant is planned to commence in the first quarter of 2016.
